How do you compare scores across different countries?+
We standardize wildly different national rating regimes — NYC's A/B/C, the UK's 0–5 stars, Toronto's Pass/Conditional/Closed, the Nordic Smiley schemes, France's 4-tier Alim'confiance, the Netherlands' Voldoet system, and more — into a single universal 0–100 score plus letter grade. The full conversion table for every country is published openly on our Methodology page so restaurants and diners can see exactly how their native rating maps. The original native rating is always preserved alongside the Universal score on every restaurant detail page.
